Metinvest, as part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front initiative, has delivered a further batch of aid worth approximately UAH 12 million to the 1st Battalion of the 12th Azov Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. The delivery included vehicles, generators, optical equipment, gear for drone units, laptops, and other specialised equipment.The largest share of the aid is focused on enhancing the unit’s mobility and operational autonomy. The Azov unit received six vehicles and two generators. Transport is required on the front line on a daily basis: for evacuations, rotations, the delivery of supplies, and the execution of combat missions. Due to constant strain and risks, the need for vehicles remains consistently high. In 2013, Vitalii Benko graduated from Vocational School No. 8, qualifying as a crane operator – a profession he had dreamed of pursuing since childhood. That same year, he began working at Zaporizhstal, where he was employed as a crane operator.
