Metinvest supported the shelter construction project in the Petrivka community's kindergarten

Metinvest Iron Ore Plants continue to support neighbouring communities in addressing urgent social and economic issues. During the war, the main focus has been on creating safe conditions in educational institutions. Currently, in the village of Novyi Starodub in the Petrivka territorial community of the Kirovohrad region, the Dzvinochok kindergarten is undergoing major roof repairs and the construction of a shelter for its pupils as part of a new project. At present, around fifty children attend this institution. Ensuring children's safety during their education is an unconditional requirement in wartime. Because of the lack of a shelter, local authorities were forced to temporarily close the kindergarten. However, under a memorandum of cooperation concluded between the Petrivka Village Council and Metinvest Iron Ore Plants, this issue of constructing a new safe space on the premises has been addressed. The Company has undertaken to provide the project with the necessary resources. I

Metinvest’s Companies in Zaporizhzhia Paid UAH 4 Billion in Taxes in 2025

In 2025, Metinvest’s enterprises in Zaporizhzhia, namely Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhzhia Refractories, Zaporizhzhia Coke and Metinvest Machinery (formerly Zaporizhzhia Casting and Mechanical Plant) – paid almost UAH 4 billion in taxes and fees to budgets at all levels in Ukraine, which is 34% more than in 2024.A major part of the payments comprised the single social tax, personal income tax, environmental tax, and military levy. As a reminder, in April 2025, Metinvest raised salaries for employees of its production and service enterprises, including those in Zaporizhzhia, by up to 20%, which further increased the tax revenue base generated by the enterprises. Metinvest Group’s companies consistently rank among the largest taxpayers in Zaporizhzhia: last year, they paid more than UAH 1.2 billion to local budgets, which is 19% more against the same period in 2024. Voluntary Fire‑Fighting Units Established and Operating at Metinvest's Integrated Iron Ore

February 7 is recognised worldwide as the birthday of the fire extinguisher – the very first device that comes to mind when a fire or ignition occurs. But even those of us who conscientiously keep it mounted on a wall or in a car boot often lack the skills to use it properly. In contrast, employees of the structural units of Metinvest’s Iron Ore Plants who have voluntarily joined the fire‑fighting units (FFUs) systematically hone their skills in operating this life‑saving device during regular and comprehensive training sessions. In 2024, the increased risk of emergencies caused by hostilities, which are often accompanied by fires and smoke, prompted the management of Metinvest’s Iron Ore Plants to initiate the establishment and training of voluntary fire‑fighting units in all business units of the plants. The training for volunteers was conducted by in‑house trainers, namely specialists from the departmental fire brigades and the occupational safety service, for whom the teams were int

Here he received a technical education, began his professional path and worked in his field for many years, remaining devoted to his job and to the people around him. In total, he worked for Metinvest Group enterprises for around eight years. First at Zaporizhzhia Refractories, and later at Zaporizhstal. His last working place was at the hot‑rolling shop, where he worked as a roll operator. He was known to his colleagues in his day-to-day work as responsible, disciplined and reliable.“Yurii was always a good colleague; he never refused to help and was attentive and responsible in his work. He had great potential – quick to learn and already performing the duties of a senior roller operator. He truly knew his job and was respected by his colleagues. Metinvest Polytechnic holds meetings with school students in local communities, starting with the Shyroke community in the Kryvyi Rih district

Career choices begin to take shape at school. With this approach, Metinvest Polytechnic has started its series of outreach meetings in various communities. The first stop on the route was the Shyroke community, where the university representatives talked with final-year students. The meeting took place in Lyceum No. 2 and it was dedicated to a conscious career choice. Future applicants got to know about professions in the industries of the future, modern engineering and technical fields, as well as the opportunity to combine studying with their first career steps even before receiving a diploma. During the discussion, speakers told students about the requirements for admission to the university. The main requirement is taking the National Multi-subject Test (NMT); for people in privileged categories and internally displaced persons, a simplified procedure is available. More detailed information is available in the university's admissions office.Viacheslav KAMENETS, Associate Professor
