Zaporizhstal has completed the first stage of major overhauls to the 1150 Slabbing Mill and the 1680 Strip Mill in the hot rolling shop.This is part of a systematic approach: traditionally, the plant carries out major overhauls of rolling mills throughout the year according to a clear schedule and in several stages. This approach allows for the timely refurbishment of components and ensures the reliable and uninterrupted operation of rolling equipment whilst production continues.The repair work was scheduled to last 48 hours, but the plant’s specialists completed the planned overhaul ahead of schedule. As part of the 2026 programme, Kamet Steel’s rolling mills commenced production of a range of B500C grade reinforcing bars for Romanian customers, successfully certified at the end of last year by the Romanian certification body ICECON.Since the start of the year, over 2,300 tonnes of rebars with a nominal diameter of 8–25 mm have already been shipped through the Kamet Steel–Romania route.The production of B500C grade rebar in accordance with the Romanian standard has a few key features.
