Dear Friends,
Metallurgists and miners are celebrating their professional holiday in the coming days. Unfortunately, we cannot make it festive and full of joy. However, we can celebrate the Day of the Metallurgist and Miner with dignity and pride.
Heavy industry has come to the support of Ukraine. From the beginning of the war, Metinvest has opened a front of steel. We have been assisting the armed forces, caring for Ukrainians, supporting the economy and helping employees who have had to move from the worst affected areas to safer regions in Ukraine to rebuild their lives.
Like everyone else, we are scared at times. Yet the fear of losing our cities and our Ukraine is much greater. Therefore, we continue coming to work. We have been working day and night to mine iron ore and produce hot metal. We are doing everything we can to make sure our steel is delivered to our customers and to ensure that Ukraine is provided with the funds it needs to strengthen its economy and bring the day of victory closer.
It is true that we are not operating to our full capacity. But it's a forced pause before a mighty leap. We will surely stand fast and our goals will become even more ambitious. Steel construction and the restoration of our country will require all of our strength. That said, victory first needs to be won.
I would like to thank each of the metallurgists and miners who are bringing Ukraine's victory closer in their workplaces. I also thank our colleagues in the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are defending our country.
We have changed. We have become tough and hardened for the future of our children, our cities, and our country. We have truth and love on our side and these are the most powerful weapons. We will surely win and turn the hedgehogs that helped to defend our native land into bridges that will unite all of Ukraine.
Happy Day of the Metallurgist and Miner!
Glory to Ukraine!
