With the support of Metinvest Group's Ingulets GOK, a dam was built on the Ingulets River in the village of Andriivka. This allowed residents of the southern part of the Karpivka territorial community to conveniently get to their places of work and important rural infrastructure facilities.
The village of Andriivka in the Karpivka territorial community is divided in two by the Ingulets River. Before, in order to get from the left bank to the right bank of the river, the local population used a major concrete bridge. However, at the beginning of the war, it was decided to temporarily put it out of operation for safety reasons. Since then, direct transportation across the river was impossible. The only way to get to the opposite bank of the river was to take a detour through Karpivka, making a big circle.
For some time, due to the proximity of the front line, the construction of an embankment crossing was impossible. However, when the enemy retreated to a safe distance from the village, this issue was reconsidered. Ingulets GOK of Metinvest Group was asked to help, as the Karpivka community has a positive experience of partnership cooperation. The company's specialists went to the site, identified the area, laid pipes for water flow, filled the dam with crushed stone, compacted the roadbed with crushed stone fines and installed metal handrails.
"We responded to the request of the Karpivka territorial community and completed the construction of the crossing in a short time. This will help residents of Andriivka, Horoduvatka and Veselyi Stav to conveniently get to the other side of the Ingulets River, where there is a school, village council, outpatient clinic and a direct road to work at Ingulets GOK. After the dam was completed, the regular bus and emergency vehicles resumed their normal traffic. In times of war, people's support is extremely important," Oleksandr Herasimchuk, General Director of Ingulets GOK, said.
Earlier, InGOK helped to reconstruct the crossing in Shyroke village, which was destroyed as a result of four Russian missiles hitting the Kryvyi Rih hydrostructure. Then, the dam was flooded and damaged due to the large volume of water that flowed from the Karachunivsk water basin into the Ingults riverbed. The dam was restored by employees of Ingulets GOK.
