Metinvest's Central Iron Ore Enrichment Works continues to improve the equipment maintenance and repair process. Specialists of the beneficiation plant have recently upgraded the spiral classifier.
A scheduled repair of the spiral of the KSN 2.4×12.5 classifier was carried out as planned. All its components – blades and spokes – were restored. To avoid rapid wear of the blades, the specialists applied a protective outer lining – rubber liners – which will increase the service life of the equipment by 20%.
The spiral classifier operates in tandem with the MShTs 3.6×5.0 grinding mill and plays an important role in the initial stage of concentrate production, ensuring the grinding of ore. The equipment is designed to separate ferrous ore in the water environment by size and density. The accuracy and efficiency of this process have a direct impact on the quality of the products and the overall productivity of the plant.
