Metinvest Group constantly supports the Ukrainian military by providing them with military equipment, gear and other necessary supplies. Recently, as part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, the soldiers defending Donetsk region received modern equipment – thermal imaging sights with a sighting range of up to 2.5 kilometres and laptops.
Such equipment is necessary for faster detection and elimination of the enemy; especially it is effective at night. The equipment was handed over to the military by Oleksandr Myronenko, Chief Operating Officer of Metinvest.
"This is not the first time we help this brigade, we have already established cooperation with them. And we will continue to do so. All these devices are always in demand among the military. And especially here, near Avdiivka, where fierce fighting takes place every day, almost without rest. It is thanks to Ukrainian defenders that Avdiivka is a Ukrainian city," Oleksandr MYRONENKO said.
Ukrainian defenders themselves note that such aid of Metinvest is invaluable and always very timely.
"We attach these sights to an assault rifle or a sniper rifle, which allows us to see at a distance of about 2.5 km. In addition, they have a fairly wide viewing angle, which gives them greater efficiency. The devices are very necessary for us, especially for scouts and at night. All that we ask for is always brought on time. We are grateful to the company for their help," the soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign "Arfa" said.
The soldiers also received laptops, thanks to which they will be able to transmit data on enemy positions even more quickly. The military say that such equipment is modern and high-quality, allowing to perform combat missions more effectively. As a token of thanks, the soldiers handed over the flag of their brigade to Metinvest representatives.
It is worth reminding that since the first days of the war Metinvest has joined Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative and has been helping to strengthen the army's defence capability. The company allocated UAH 2 billion for the needs of the Ukrainian army. The Ukrainian army has already received 1,200 drones, making the Group one of the largest private suppliers of drones to the army. The company has also donated 1,700 thermal imagers and about 400 vehicles, including ambulances. The company has provided 1.2 million litres of fuel to refuel the vehicles. Recently, specialists of the Zaporizhzhia enterprise have repaired a car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
