Energy for the frontline: Metinvest handed over crucial equipment to K-2 amounting to UAH 2 million

As part of Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front military initiative, Metinvest Group has handed over a new batch of energy equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine – 10 EcoFlow power stations and 18 generators. The total value of this assistance amounts to approximately UAH 2 million.

Amid the constant shelling causing electricity disruptions and power outages, the military personnel can rely on autonomous power sources as generators and power stations.

In this latest delivery, Metinvest Group, through the Steel Front initiative, provided EcoFlow power station to the 20th Separate Regiment of Unmanned Systems K-2. These portable devices enable the charging of drones, radios, tablets, and thermal imaging devices, as well as powering lighting systems. Additionally, 18 generators were handed over to ensure reliable power generation for equipment, thermal heaters, and field hospitals.

The Head of Metinvest Group CEO's Office, Oleksandr VODOVIZ, explains, "Stable power generation at the frontline is not a matter of comfort – it is a necessity. Drones, communication systems, and medical equipment depends on energy. That is why we systematically provide power stations, generators and everything that allows Ukrainian soldiers to maintain combat readiness even under the most challenging conditions."

This is not the first batch of equipment – Steel Front regularly supplies units with power solutions in response to frontline requests.

AID IN NUMBERS

Since the beginning of the war, Rinat Akhmetov's Steel Front initiative has systematically supported the army – from armored vehicles and shelters to specialised equipment and logistics. In 2024 alone, Steel Front has delivered over 6,000 units of specialised equipment, including energy-related devices.

In field conditions, the high-quality power stations and generators have become alternatives to conventional power grids, providing autonomous generations and uninterrupted power supply.

Steel Front is a joint initiative of all Rinat Akhmetov's businesses, which consolidates all support for the Defence Forces of Ukraine. To date, Rinat Akhmetov's support for Ukraine has exceeded UAH 11.3 billion.
