Almost two hundred Kryvyi Rih residents joined the March volunteer blood donation event, organised in Ternivskyi district. Among the conscious blood donors are the youth of Northern GOK Metinvest.

The need for donations is not decreasing, and the city blood bank is constantly in need of replenishment. Kryvyi Rih blood transfusion centre, where donors are awaited, is located closer to the southern part of the city, so the road to it from the northern regions takes at least an hour and a half. Most northerners find it difficult to get there due to work schedules and long distances. But they happily joined the blood donation campaign organised in Ternivskyi district by active local residents.
It took place in the maternity hospital of city hospital No. 7. Young employees of Northern GOK have assembled a team ready to share a vital resource to save lives. Someone came for the first time. Among them is Olesia Stadnichenko, lead electronics engineer of the automation department. The girl says that she hesitated for a long time, but the desire to help overpowered her fear.
“Now I understand that there was nothing to be afraid of. In addition, donating blood is very useful for healthy people, because all the elements of the blood are renewed. And it is located nearby: five minutes away from my house. You don't need to spend a lot of time travelling there and back. When you become a blood donor, it is a pleasant feeling because you are doing a good deed. Therefore, I will continue to participate and advocate for blood donation as much as possible. Especially if blood collection is organised in our area. I talked to other people and realised that we have enough people willing to donate,” said Olesia STADNICHENKO.
“This is an important action for the residents of our district,” says Bogdan KHLIBYSHYN, chairman of the youth organisation of Northern GOK, “after all, blood is needed to save military and civilians. The recent tragic event, an attack on a high-rise building in our city, once again proved the need for blood. I realised that it is important to give such campaigns the greatest possible publicity, because blood is always needed, which means that next time there will be more donors. This is not the first time I have donated blood, and I will do so in the future and invite others.”
It is worth reminding that during 2023, the employees of the plant and the company actively joined the blood donation movement: in Kryvyi Rih blood transfusion centre, more than a thousand employees of Northern, Ingulets and Central GOK donated blood.
