Oplich HUB has relocated and continues to offer a range of free activities.
At the Oplich HUB community center, which has been operating in Zaporizhzhia for over a year, you can enjoy free yoga classes, wellness fitness, joint neurogymnastics, painting, tea ceremonies, career guidance, children's master classes, psychological and legal consultations, as well as various training sessions.
Despite the many challenges of operating in the war zone – such as ensuring the safety of visitors and staff, and dealing with power supply instability – the Oplich HUB team has not only continued to serve and support people in this frontline city but has also significantly expanded its range of services over the year.
Oplich HUB was created by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine as part of the Mental Help project. The centre operates with the support of Metinvest Group’s Saving Lives humanitarian initiative, Zaporizhstal Iron and Steelworks, and USAID's project "Building a Sustainable Public Health System".
Oplich HUB serves both local residents and internally displaced persons, offering them comprehensive support that includes psychological, social, and physical assistance.
One of the most popular classes at Oplich HUB is yoga, which promotes holistic improvement of spiritual, mental, and physical balance, as well as overall health recovery. While yoga classes were previously held four times a week, they are now conducted five times a week. An extra day was added due to the high demand.
"It is a form of distraction from everything, allowing for complete immersion in own abilities. The physical development of these abilities brings us peace of mind. People come here to exercise, relieve tension and stress, and leave feeling satisfied," says Nina KONOVALOVA, a yoga teacher at the community centre.
She says that one should not be afraid of not being able to perform some exercise and invites to join the class: "Yoga is not about forcing ourselves or commands like "everyone stand up and do this or that". Yoga allows each individual to move at their own pace. We always invite everyone, and not just me, but our entire group. The more people know about it, the better."
