No stopping the brave: in times of trial, they stand up to defend Ukraine, and after demobilisation, they return to the production team. They also demonstrate that they are strong as steel on the sports field. Veterans' team from Kamet Steel took an active part in the city's sports and patriotic event.
The Steel Six – Yevhen Marin, Maksyn Kryvopyskyi, Ihor Mohyla, Serhii Yarovyi, Serhii Chukhmanskyi, and Eduard Anotkin –represented the steelworks with dignity at the sports forum, "Unbreakable People of the Unbreakable Country", held for the first time in Kamianske to mark the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The event brought together modern heroes, including war veterans, military personnel, law enforcement members, and the families of defenders.
We are pleased to announce that our colleague from the Mains and Substations Shop, Eduard Anotkin – a renowned community arm-wrestling and arm-lifting coach – was among the participants who received city awards at the event. Kamianske Mayor Andrii Bilousov presented him with a letter of appreciation in recognition of the veteran steelworker's proactive attitude, significant contributions to promoting a healthy lifestyle, and participation in the regional sports competition, "Titans UA", among combatants.
Veterans from Kamet Steel took part in the sports quest, showcasing their excellence in various physical activities at all locations, including darts, strength exercises and games, rowing on simulators, and table tennis. They also greatly enjoyed meeting and interacting with other participants at the event.
Maksym KRYVOPYSKYI, lathe operator of the test shop:
"I am glad to be a part of this great event. I truly enjoy the activities and communication. Such events are essential; they provide a kind of "reboot" for us – both physically and mentally. Feeling a pleasant "peaceful" tension in your muscles from exercise, testing yourself in various competitions, and, most importantly, meeting and communicating with good, interesting people – all of this brings strength and inspiration. It would be wonderful if such events were held more frequently."
Serhii YAROVYI, casting operator of the BOF shop:
"It is amazing to see comrades-in-arms come together, whether they are new acquaintances or those you've fought alongside. Here, I reunite with the guys with whom I went to fight on the first day of the full-scale invasion and later served alongside in the same battalion, and it brings me genuine joy to see them again. Each of us wants to reunite with our comrades-in-arms who are still on the frontlines. I wish them strength and endurance, hoping they return alive and unharmed, so we can all participate in these peaceful, friendly sports competitions together once again.
