New Academic Year at Metinvest Polytechnic: Veterans Choose Technical Professions for Career Growth

The fourth academic year has begun at Metinvest Polytechnic, Ukraine’s first private mining and metals university. This year, more than 150 future bachelor’s and master’s students enrolled, along with, for the first time, 94 students of the professional junior bachelor’s programme. Among the new entrants are 26 war veterans, including Metinvest employees and participants in the defence of Mariupol.The university now has over 600 students, 52 of whom are veterans. The indiscriminate and extensive mine-laying by russian troops continually endangers soldiers and ordinary citizens alike. Experts estimate that the complete removal of mines from Ukraine could require anywhere from several decades to hundreds of years.Oleh Panibratenko, who commands a sapper squad, remarked, "There is ample work for both us and numerous coming generations."
