A new rehabilitation project, Free Waves, designed for the wounded active duty personnel and veterans has been launched at the swimming pool of Kryvyi Rih Youth Sports School No. 10. It focuses on helping defenders recover through swimming and is implemented with the support of Metinvest Group and Kryvyi Rih Defence Council. Shutdowns, whether planned or emergency, are dangerous for both equipment and employees of mining enterprises. They equally require a clear procedure to minimise potential risks.Power outages caused by enemy shelling of energy infrastructure can cause numerous problems in production if preventive measures are not taken in a timely manner. To prevent the negative consequences of blackouts, Metinvest’s mining and processing plants have developed and implemented an algorithm of actions for employees. In Zaporizhia, veterans continue to take free swimming sessions as part of the Free Waves programme. Swimming is one of the best means of rehabilitation after injuries and wounds. While loading the entire body uniformly rather than locally like in other types of training, swimming engages all muscle groups – even under light loads, they warm up, become stronger and more enduring.Veterans participating in Free Waves rehabilitation programme have already experienced the benefits of swimming, as they attend the free sessions at the pool.This programme was initiated over a month ago by Denys Sylantiev, a professional swimmer and public activist from Zaporizhia.
