Autumn Fishing Unites Veterans of Kamet Steel

Returning from war involves not only physical rehabilitation but also the complex psychological adjustment to civilian life. For many veterans, particularly those who were employed at Kamet Steel before the war, getting back to work and resuming a normal routine is challenging and takes time. Recognizing the need to support demobilized soldiers who were employed at the plant, Kamet Steel arranged an autumn fishing trip for them.

Supporting such initiatives plays a crucial role in helping veterans adapt socially and in creating conditions for them to lead fulfilling lives. Fishing provides not only emotional relaxation but also an exhilarating sport, where participants experienced genuine excitement and a rush of adrenaline. Veterans had the chance to enjoy fishing for fun and relax by the scenic riverbank. It rained on and off throughout the day, but that didn't stop the fish from biting eagerly.

In conclusion, the veteran fishermen prepared a tasty fish soup, shared their impressions of fishing, reminisced about their service and honoured their fallen comrades who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine.

Ihor MOGYLA, pump operator at BOF shop said,

"For us men, fishing isn't just a hobby; it's a form of therapy. Today, out in nature, veterans can escape their daily concerns, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the silence. Fishing demands concentration, patience and calmness, which helps us to divert our minds from anxious thoughts and stress. I had a fantastic time, and I hope Kamet Steel keeps organizing these events for us in the future."
