Metinvest Iron Ore signs memorandum of cooperation with Kryvyi Rih Mining College

The cooperation of Metinvest's industrial enterprises and the experience of the specialized vocational education institution will provide high-quality professional training for future electrical specialists and provide students with the necessary skills in renewable power generation.

Today, when Ukrainian industrial enterprises are making efforts to ecologically modernize production processes, professional training of specialists in renewable power generation is becoming important. After all, the ability of enterprises to introduce "green" technologies, approaching European standards, depends on the quality of training of future specialists.

Currently, work has begun in Kryvyi Rih on the project "Green Skills Alliance – training of competitive specialists for sustainable development" under the patronage of the NGO "Polish-Ukrainian Cooperation Foundation PAUCI". Metinvest Iron Ore and Kryvyi Rih Mining College became partners in its implementation. The signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the educational institution and one of the largest employers in the city was a key event in the development of a promising project.

"The partnership launched as part of the project will allow to adapt the process of training future specialists who will come to work with our company to modern production requirements as much as possible. It is very important for us that graduates have not only thorough theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills in working with modern equipment in the field of renewable power generation," said Ihor TONIEV, General Director of Metinvest Iron Ore.

During the implementation of the project, the partners plan to conduct practical training for college teachers in real production conditions; update training programs, in particular, through the introduction of modules on the competence "Maintenance and repair of solar power plant systems»; conduct interactive career guidance master classes and short-term courses on mastering micro-qualifications and develop educational materials on the topics "Installation of renewable power generation systems", "Maintenance of renewable power generation systems».

According to Tetiana STOYCHYK, Acting Director of Kryvyi Rih Mining College, the signed agreements open up new opportunities for the implementation of dual education programs in the field of renewable power generation, career guidance activities together with representatives of Metinvest enterprises, strengthening the basic infrastructure of the college, creating favorable conditions for the formation of professional competencies in accordance with the demand of the labor market.

It should be reminded that the partnership between Metinvest Iron Ore and Kryvyi Rih Mining College has been going on for many years. Thanks to the support of the company's enterprises, the educational institution has a training and practical center of electrical technologies with special stands that simulate electrical equipment, introduce electrical measurements, machines, installation and adjustment of electronics circuits. They completely repeat the equipment used in the processing and crushing plants of iron ore enrichment plants.
