The Path to Change: Roads are Being Repaired in Hleiuvatka Community with the Support of Metinvest

Critical road sections are being repaired in the settlements of Hleiuvatka community. Thanks to cooperation with Metinvest and the public organisation 'Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future', over three thousand square metres of road surface will be restored this year. The works will cover the section from Krasna Balka to Novoivanivka, ensuring safe traffic flow and secure transportation for school buses.

Major transformations are underway in Hleiuvatka community. Roads that had remained problematic for years are now being renovated here. Local residents recall that not long ago, the potholes were so severe that even minibuses refused to enter the area. Now, road construction machinery and specialists are actively working in the area. Local residents admit they have been waiting for this moment for a very long time, as they use this road daily to go to the shop, the market, and to visit neighbours.

Currently, road workers are operating on a section stretching three and a half kilometres. The repair works cover more than three thousand square metres of road surface, stretching from Krasna Balka to Novoivanivka. Damaged concrete slabs are being replaced, the base is being compacted, and new asphalt is being laid. Excavators, rollers, and modern machinery are being used to ensure the road is safe for vehicles.

"I would like to emphasise that all major and critically important projects for our residents are being implemented with the involvement of Metinvest. For us, this is not merely routine maintenance – it is a contribution to the resilience of our community. Whether it is the renovated pumping station or our gymnasium – these are symbols of life that continues despite the war," said Dmytro HURIEIEV, First Deputy Head of Hleiuvatka Village Council.

The works are being carried out as part of a memorandum of cooperation between Metinvest and Hleiuvatka community. Under the coordination of the public organisation 'Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future', Metinvest is implementing dozens of projects across local settlements: ranging from road and school roof repairs to the installation of water purification stations and the inclusive reconstruction of outpatient clinics.

"When we hear positive feedback from local residents about the work we carry out together with businesses and the community, we know we are on the right path. Every renovated or newly established facility that will serve people for years to come is more than just infrastructure. This is about a peaceful and hopeful future for the village, which continues to live and work through extremely challenging times for the country, without losing faith in a better tomorrow," said Olena LESHCHENKO, Director of the public organisation 'Kryvyi Rih Foundation for the Future'.
