Metinvest-Promservice specialists have successfully replaced the upper gas shut-off valve.– The gas cut-off valve is designed to equalise the pressure between the atmosphere and the blast furnace space. It is the upper valve that equalises the pressure between the charging hopper and the furnace, and it is very important to replace it in time to ensure that the charging process is safe and does not cause any emergency situations, – Sergii LYSOKON, Deputy Head of Blast Furnace Shop for Equipment, said.Valves are replaced periodically depending on wear and tear. Therefore, it is important to keep their condition under control. As part of the second stage of the major overhaul, the bell-less top chute will be replaced in April 2024.The first stage has now been successfully completed and the blast furnace continues to operate steadily.
